These are challenging times for education in California and for Ohlone College.
The Board of Trustees must deal with ever increasing student needs, a state government strapped for funds, and at the same time oversee the process of building a new campus in Newark. The role of the College Board in these tasks is a crucial one and one that requires a whole-hearted commitment from its members.
I can bring to the Ohlone College Board of Trustees the energy, the time and the commitment this position requires. In the past I have served on the Fremont Library Advisory Commission, the Fremont City Charter Commission and I am currently a member of the Fremont Historic Architecture Review Board. I also served on the boards of the Fremont Museum of Local History, the Center Theatre Preservation Group and FremontOnline.
Members of the Ohlone College Board of Trustees must be leaders in the struggle for resources and support from our state government and from our local community. They must be leaders in setting the policies, tone and tenor of the college’s administration. Finally, they must be faithful stewards of the public's money and trust. I hope I can have your support.
